Safety Guidelines

Safety Guidelines

Sync Us is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, please do not use this Service, for your own safety.

We've put together the guidelines below to help you stay safe while using Sync Us. Please take a few minutes to read through them.

1. Protecting Your Account

  • Choose a strong, unique password — avoid simple or guessable ones like "12345" or "password." Mix letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Never share your password with anyone, including people claiming to be Sync Us staff. We will never ask for your password.
  • Log out of your account when using a shared or public device.
  • If you think your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].

2. Phishing and Scams

  • Be cautious of messages or links from strangers or unknown senders, even if they appear to come from Sync Us.
  • We will never ask you to click a link and enter your login details outside the official Sync Us app or website (chat.syncus.cc).
  • Watch out for requests for money, gift cards, or financial information — these are almost always scams.
  • If something feels off, don't click, don't reply, and report it.

3. Chatting with Strangers

  • Sync Us connects you with people you may not know. Treat conversations with the same caution you would with any stranger.
  • Be skeptical of anyone who moves too quickly to build trust, asks probing personal questions early on, or pressures you to move the conversation to another platform.
  • Trust your instincts — if a conversation makes you uncomfortable, you can leave the chat, block the user, and report them.

4. Sharing Personal Information and Photos

  • Avoid sharing sensitive personal details such as your full name, home address, workplace, school, phone number, financial information, or government ID.
  • Think twice before sharing personal photos — once shared, you lose control over how they might be used or forwarded.
  • Use a nickname that does not include your real name or anything overly suggestive or identifying.
  • Be especially cautious with anyone who pressures you to share private images or personal details.

5. Meeting Someone in Person

We strongly discourage meeting people you've only interacted with on Sync Us in person. If you do choose to meet someone:

  • Meet in a public place, never somewhere private or isolated.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own transportation, and don't rely on the other person for a ride.
  • Be wary of promises involving money, gifts, modeling opportunities, or job offers made by someone you've only met online — these are common manipulation tactics.
  • Trust your instincts; you're never obligated to go through with a meeting that doesn't feel right.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you encounter harassment, threats, impersonation, scams, sexual content involving minors, or any behavior that violates our Terms of Use, please report it right away:

  • Use the in-app report/block feature where available.
  • Email us at [email protected] with as much detail as possible (username, screenshots, date/time).

We take reports seriously and will take appropriate action, which may include warnings, suspension, or permanent account termination. If you believe a child is in danger or a crime has occurred, please also contact your local law enforcement or emergency services.

7. Parents and Guardians

Sync Us is built for adults, and like most chat platforms, we cannot fully verify the age of every user. If you are a parent or guardian, here are some steps that can help:

  • Use parental control software to restrict access to chat and social platforms not intended for minors.
  • Keep shared devices in common areas of the home rather than bedrooms.
  • Set reasonable screen time limits.
  • Talk openly with your children about online safety — never sharing personal information with strangers, being cautious of unknown links, and recognizing when someone online is trying to build inappropriate trust.
  • Periodically check what apps and websites your children are using.

If you believe a minor has created an account on Sync Us, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to remove the account.
